Project Work or Summer Internship Program (SIP) is an integral part of MBA curriculum. The project work is very important for all MBA students as it enables them to hone their management skills. Every student should undergo project training for 45 days and submit the project report to the concerned university in the last semester. Usually, the project work is carried out  in the second semester’s summer vacations (May-June). Thereafter, the project report is prepared and submitted in the final semester.

The project work is very important experience for an MBA student. During the project training MBA students will know the practicality of business management. The students will soon realize that reading about business management is totally different compared to day to day management of business.

The experience of project training helps a candidate to improve his practical knowledge and to become good manager/leader in the future. If the intern completes the project successfully and impresses company management  then there are more chances for him to be absorbed in the same company.

Ironically, today we see that most students are not interested in doing real project work or live project. Instead they are using dummy projects. The student community doesn’t know that this increasing usage of dummy project is of no use to them. By using dummy project or keeping dummy project students are spoiling their own careers. The University loses nothing, instead the students are at loss. So please try to do live project.

The learning experience with live project  is totally different. You can ask your friend who has done live project about his experience. He would definitely have learned much than those who failed to do live  project.

I kindly request students not to be depended on the college authorities for their SIP. In order to get project work, the students should use their own corporate contacts, friends, relatives, uncles, cousins, etc.

Many students are very much confused regarding project work. They are unaware of What actually a project is?, How a project should be done?, and How a project report is made?. Some students are also unaware about the project report guidelines and content. In order to assist students, I am providing few documents containing detail guidelines for preparation and presentation of project report.

MBA Project Guidelines – By – Anna University

MBA Project Guidelines – By – Guru Jambheshwar University

MBA Project Guidelines – By – CDE-Utkal University

I am also providing few sample copies of project report that can be used for reference only. Kindly do not use the same report for your project work. These reports will give you an idea about what a project is, and how project report will look like and what topics are covered in the report.
